The Société historique de Saint-Boniface, founded in 1902, is the governing entity of the the Centre du patrimoine, a publicly accessible community archive consisting of an impressive exhibition gallery, a curated research library, state-of-the-art archival vaults and storage systems, and a collection of archival documents going back to the early Red River Settlement period. Our holdings include over 730 different archival fonds documenting the francophone and Métis history of the area.
Our mission is to «Acquire, preserve and promote the Francophone and Métis heritage of Western Canada, with a focus on Manitoba».
