LAB87 was born from the desire to build a sustainable bridge between Montreal and the best emerging playwrights from the English-speaking world. The company's mandate is to reach and develop an audience made up of people who are not interested in the theatre, by offering them accessible and innovative contemporary plays. Its members look forward to work with highly topical playwrights. In order to provide an interesting alternative to social media and today's entertainment platforms, they follow a selection of Canadian, American, British and Australian theatres. Every year, the company's reading committee is asked to provide an input on new dramatic stage works and to submit projects in accordance with the company's mandate. Established in Montreal, but recognized throughout eastern Canada, LAB87 is behind the following productions: Les 5 à 7 de La Licorne - Toutes les choses parfaites (2016), Constellations (2015), Tribus (2014), Les Flâneurs célestes (2014), Scotstown (2014) and L’obsession de la beauté (2012).
