The Lac La Biche Regional Humane Society incorporated on October 2, 2014 as a non-profit society, and is a registered charity.  We are founded upon respect, commitment, integrity and the intent to partner regionally and/or with our neighbours where possible.  Our mission is the provision of humane treatment to any animal who would otherwise be neglected, mistreated or killed, and to relieve pain and suffering via direct intervention and/or educational efforts.

We promote the welfare & humane treatment of animals for the benefit of our Region, inclusive of our First Nations and Metis Settlements, by:

• rescuing stray, abandoned, abused, or surrendered animals;
• operating an animal adoption program;
• providing a Trap Neuter Return (TNR) program for feral cats;
• offering education programs on animal welfare;
• ensuring all of our rescues are spayed or neutered; and
• acting as the Regional Referral Agency for any & all species requiring assistance.

In 2017, following considerable fundraising efforts, we opened the region's first full service animal shelter!  As we receive no government funding, all our revenues come from our volunteer fundraising efforts, corporate sponsorship, donations, and program revenues, so any donations make a huge difference in lightening our financial burden, and allow us to continue funding our programs which undeniably make a huge positive impact in our communities & for so many families.
