Lanark County Genealogical Society, founded in 1981, is an all-volunteer not- for-profit organization with the purpose to promote the study of genealogy and preserving Lanark County Ontario heritage for future generations
Our Goals shall be to:
Encourage, share and assist family history enthusiasts and historians in preserving Lanark County heritage by compiling and recording historical data & family histories.
Maintain a Genealogy Resource Centre that serves the community in creating historical and County Heritage awareness, fostering education on heritage, publishes materials related to Lanark County and houses collections of books and/or other print or nonprint materials organized and maintained for use of the Centre’s patrons (not a comprehensive list): Family history books, Abstracts and indexes of Lanark County records, census books, county histories, cemetery guides and plot transcriptions, genealogy periodicals and more.
