L'Arche Toronto owns four homes in east Toronto. In each home five or six persons with intellectual disabilities lives alongside two or three assistants. These homes are the core of our community.
However, homes are constantly in need of maintenance and upgrades to ensure livability, safety and accessibility. For instance, one of our homes needs to replace its 15-year-old common-area furnishings, which will cost over $4,000. Not to mention, in homes that house eight persons, the wear and tear that requires annual painting and cleaning.
