About LAWRENCE PARK COMMUNITY CHURCH
Lawrence Park Community Church is committed to being a radically inclusive and welcoming congregation. We preach and live a Good News that is contemporary and challenging. Whatever age you may be, whatever stage of exploring faith you may be at, you will find support, encouragement and spiritual stimulation in our congregation.
We are friends who know how to welcome newcomers. We are inclusive.
Our approach to the Christian faith is progressive and contemporary. We worship a God who is more “within and among” us than “beyond.” We proclaim Jesus as our model for life, while recognizing that Jesus is not the only way.
We think of ourselves as “united, unlimited, and unorthodox.
• United: Committed to each other and our neighbours’ wellbeing.
• Unorthodox: We invite seekers, those with different opinions, and those looking for a church where theology is a playground rather than a battlefield to join in the conversation we’re having.
• Unlimited: We take on big projects, like feeding the poor or sponsoring refugees, even when those projects seem overwhelming and difficult.
Lawrence Park Community Church has a strong music program. Our choir is large and fun. We explore a wide variety of musical genres in our worship, from traditional to rock and roll, and jazz to broadway standards. Our teens meet weekly for pizza, talk, and projects. They sing, get involved in annual musicals, and participate in worship. We can’t get along without them. Sunday school is fun and staffed by professionals.
The building is used every day by many community groups. Our staff is available, friendly, and excited about their work. Join us for Sunday worship at 10:30 am. We’re looking for you! - John Suk
