Harold Rhéaume founded his contemporary dance company in the year 2000. He lost his father quite young, before he could see his son dance. Wanting to keep his father’s memory alive, the company was named “Le fils d’Adrien danse” , Adrien’s son is dancing.

In Quebec, Le fils d'Adrien danse is one of the most dynamic leader in contemporary dance. Since its creation the company produced numerous shows in three distinct but hybrid performance fields: general audience, youth audience and in situ performances. These three fields became emblematical for the development of the company, and all contributed to spread the discipline in very diverse environment.

Rhéaume’s choreographic approach offers a lot of space to the dancers in the creative process and in the pieces evolution. With this open mind he knew, at the beginning of his career, how to create a relationship with all the collaborators; dancers, musicians, set designer, light designer, video director, director, costume designers. All contributed as an integrated team to develop an esthetic signature for the Fils d’Adrien danse creations.

Le fils d'Adrien danse is involved in a significant way in his discipline and in its environment. The company promoted the growth of new talent by generating a multitude of artistic projects, participating to the professional dance school’s creations and being an artistic collaborator in prestigious projects for various performing arts (opera, symphonic orchestra, theater, circus, movies). But more importantly, the magnitude and the radiation of the productions of Le fils d'Adrien danse supports directly the young dancers of the city of Quebec. Le fils d'Adrien danse is a company-in-residence at the Rotonde and will be involved in the future Maison pour la Danse.
