Le Pont Bridging Food Bank and the COVID-19 Pandemic
Le Pont Bridging Food Bank joins those who are ramping up their activities to help the growing number of those in need due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Just as its name implies, Le Pont Bridging is filling the gap between when a family loses its income and before government support kicks in. Working in conjunction with our allied partners (government and social agencies), we are now supporting twice the number of families in the Hudson-Saint-Lazare and surrounding areas. Thanks to Le Pont Bridging’s younger volunteers who have stepped in to handle deliveries while maintaining social distancing – not an easy feat – families are receiving largely gift cards from our local IGA. In this way, in-store shopping by our volunteers is minimized, if not avoided, where possible.
All donations made through CanadaHelps are now being matched thanks to the Gore Mutual Foundation.
We expect the number of families requiring our services to continue to grow exponentially at least until COVID-19’s curve is flattened. Let’s hope this is soon.In the meantime, we are grateful to all those who are contributing so generously, without even being asked! THANK YOU!
