Rooted in Northern Ontario, the Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario (TNO) is a professional theatre company specializing in contemporary works by Canadian playwrights, especially francophone playwrights from Ontario.

The company creates, presents and hosts theatrical works in order to develop, enrich and promote its community’s artistic and cultural life.
The TNO’s broad objectives are to:
- Promote Franco-Ontarian culture through its theatre productions.
- Contribute to the development of theatrical life in Canada.
- Assist in the development of Franco-Ontarian artists and artisans by providing a platform for artistic expression.
- Develop partnerships with other theatre companies, community groups, associations, etc.;
- Increase and diversify its audience while ensuring its development through arts education activities and initiatives.
- Stimulate and inspire the community, notably by staging community productions.
