ABOUT US

Leadership Waterloo Region (LWR) is a social-profit organization that was founded in 2000 with the vision fostering and developing new leadership for generations to come. LWR works to sustain and improve our community by developing stronger leaders by connecting them with important community initiatives and a network of other leaders.  LWR delivers educational leadership experiences to a diverse range of individuals in the community by providing them with the opportunity to acquire and practice leadership skills. This work is done collaboratively with like-minded organizations in Waterloo Region through the delivery of carefully tailored programs.

HOW WE ACHIEVE OUR WHY

The primary way we achieve our WHY is through innovative life-long experiential learning programs and opportunities.

The Community Leadership Development Program is at the core of what we do. That’s why we call it our Core Program.  It is designed to achieve our main objective: to ignite rising leaders to make positive change in Waterloo Region. How do we do that? We encourage, empower, enable and equip participants through practical and experiential learning opportunities.

‍The Core Program helps participants acquire both a broader understanding of the critical issues affecting our community and the leadership skills necessary to resolve them. This program prepares participants for the challenges of their own life-long leadership journeys, builds leadership skills, and develops an awareness for the rich opportunities for leadership in Waterloo Region.
