To empower our community to aid those in need of food support through strategic:

WHAT WE OFFER!
We are a short-term emergency service and we service the 7 municipalities within Leduc County.
The core function of the Food Bank is to return donated and purchased food and goods to community members that are in need in an atmosphere that allows them as much privacy and dignity as is possible.
The food bank has a number of programs to help those who struggle with food security in our region:
- Food Hamper Program - short term assistance with a nutritious food hamper. Available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
- Bread Basket Program - An extra small food hamper specifically for client in the Kitchen Learning Center program and those client needing a top up between the Food Hamper program. The program offers a hamper with bread, pastries, and available fresh produce and or dairy.
- Bagged Lunch Program - This is a program for un-housed individual. Available Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00. They are able to receive a bag with assorted non perishable and perishable items that offers several meals that do not need to be heated or refrigerated.
- Kitchen Learning Center - Was designed to work with food bank and agency clients in increasing knowledge of food safety, nutrition, budgeting etc. This program works with a number of agencies such as Mental Health, Brain Injury. Fetal Alcohol FASD (Bridges Mentors Program), Boys and Girls Club, Leduc Housing Foundation, Early Childhood etc
- Shields Community Kitchen - The community kitchen is focused on food recovery, our bagged lunch program and programs as needed. This is were we enlist our corporate volunteers for helping build our sandwiches etc.
We also work with 41 schools in our region and 4 school divisions.
- School Snack Attack - each school can put in an order each month for specific snack items offered including fruit when available.
- School Bagged Lunch Program - Each school can participate in a bag lunch program. Families identified by the school that may need extra food security can receive a bagged lunch on regular school days for their child or children.
- Tools for School programs - We offer backpacks with the basic school supplies for back to school. We work with clients and the schools know if they have someone needing assistance they will connect them with us for the supplies.
We are a community-driven and supported organization that relies on community donations and volunteer support.
We work closely with all available social agencies and referrals to other agencies are made as necessary.
