Our Mission
Leket Canada was established to address the paradox of growing hunger and large scale food waste in Israel.
About Leket Canada
Leket Canada's staff and volunteers collect donated, excess, nutritional food that would otherwise be discarded from Israeli food producers. The food is then redistributed free of charge, to non-profit organizations caring for a range of at risk population groups including the elderly and invalid, the working poor and children at risk.
Thanks to the generosity of Leket Canada’s supporters, two critical initiatives are made possible: rescuing and distributing hot meals to communities in southern Israel, and engaging outsourced manual labourers to strengthen produce rescue efforts, helping ensure that more fresh, nutritious food reaches those who need it most.
