Mission Statement

Les Amis de la montagne is a non-profit organization that works to protect, improve, and promote the sustainability of Montréal's Mount Royal. We fulfill this mission through advocacy, community involvement, environmental education, and stewardship.

About LES AMIS DE LA MONTAGNE (MONT-ROYAL) INC

Les Amis was founded in 1986 and has since partnered with the organization Centre de la montagne to provide environmental educational services in Mount Royal Park. Given our concordant mandates and goals, our organizations eventually merged and have since operated under the banner of "Les Amis de la montagne."

As the City of Montréal's preferred partner in Mount Royal Park, Les Amis de la montagne operates visitor services, including information on attractions and activities in the park, outdoor equipment rental, and food services. The organization also presents a full range of cultural, educational, and recreational programs. Generated revenues are reinvested for the benefit of Mount Royal Park and its users.

As a registered charitable organization, Les Amis de la montagne draws its strength from a strong network of supporters that include generous and dedicated citizens, community organizations, foundations, and corporations. As trusted friends of Mount Royal, we are committed to a shared goal: protecting, improving, and promoting the sustainability of our mountain.
