Founded on December 5, 2000 by the Corso family, Les Centres Bonséjour initially welcomed both semi-autonomous elderly people as well as individuals suffering from addiction in a housing program. These two groups of individuals coexisted together and, over time, a sense of family and belongingness developed throughout the home, forming a therapeutic community where the second group takes care of the first group with respect and conviviality. Recognizing this harmony and wishing to perpetuate it, Les Centres Bonséjour quickly surround themselves with a dynamic team to make the most of their professional experiences in order to pursue the organization's mission. In 2001, the difficult decision to devote the mission exclusively to the rising problem of addiction was made and the seniors were then relocated to specialized centers. Over the next ten years, the team consolidates their dedication and developing other services around the same mission, in relation to social reintegration and substance detoxification. Finally, the year 2011 marks a decisive year in the continuity of the organization's mission. With the new mandatory certification of the Ministry of Health and Social, Les Centers Bonséjour inaugurate, with energy, motivation and commitment, in August 2011, a new organization located in Saint-Jérôme, in the Laurentians. This great transformation allows the resource to double their capacity, now welcoming fifty-eight residents.2016 marks one of the most eventful years in the history of the Bonséjour Centers. Following the change in management within the organization and a restructuration, the team was able to focus on strengthening and stabilizing the resource. As a result, several changes have emerged. The move from Saint-Jérôme generated a change of neighborhood. On June 5th, 2017, Les Centers Bonséjour settled in Sainte-Adèle, still hosting a capacity of fifty-eight people.
