LIFE*SPIN is an organization dedicated to providing information and support to individuals surviving on low incomes. LIFE*SPIN strives to support the empowerment and self-development of these individuals in their efforts to attain self-sufficiency.

About LIFE*SPIN

LIFE*SPIN is a place for low –income families to come year round for support, programming, community events, and a place to re-build their lives, with a sense of community support around them. 

Community Economic Development Housing Initiative ~provides permanent affordable housing for ten families, at our property on Dundas Street.

Free Store ~ relies on donations of new and gently used clothing, linens and household items, which we provide to families and individuals in need, at no cost.  The Free Store also host an annual “Prom Night” event, for youth to shop for their special evening.

Office of the Community Advocate ~ front-line services for mediation, referrals for services, homelessness prevention programs, public legal educational resources, training and community events, such as our annual Baby Fair and Senior’s Fair.

Christmas Sponsorship Program ~ matching children in low-income families to sponsors for support at Christmas

Old East Common ~ An environmental stewardship / outdoor learning centre, which support the Pocket-Sized Farms Children’s Gardening Program.

Community Food Box Program - By working together with stellar community partners, we support fixed-income families, seniors, and expectant mothers who are at risk.  The program provided direct access to food, delivered right to their doors.
