Knowing that all individuals have dignity and worth, it is the mission of “Light a Dream” to enable young adults with special needs to experience and learn in a productive business environment, while providing the community with quality products and services.
Light a Dream was established in the fall of 1999. The project began as an extension to the LBPSB/John Abbott College Cooperative Education Program of intellectually delayed young adults between the ages of 18 and 21. In the fall of 2000, a storefront location was found in the Pointe-Claire Village. Under the supervision of a group of staff and parent volunteers, students are encouraged to contribute to and be included in the business world.
