The volunteer members of RCM SAR Unit 59 Deep Bay are part of the broader provincial volunteer based Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue organization. Our volunteer members provide on call 24/7/365 coverage. We are available to quickly respond to taskings from the Joint Rescue Coordination Center in Victoria to help saves lives at risk on the water. To do this safely and effectively we need to have safe and reliable equipment and trained crews. Your financial donation helps make this possible. If you reside near our station in Deep Bay you can also help by joining our team and giving the gift of time. Our unit's volunteer crew members work hard to maintain our rescue boat -known locally as the Mapleguard- on a weekly basis. The Mapleguard is however due for a major refit to ensure it remains safe and capable for years to come. Our most pressing need is for community support and funding for the factory refit of our rescue boat. Please consider helping.
