The Sisters focus on education, women, children, refugees, human rights, and the ecological challenges facing us all.
The Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions (RNDM) in Canada form part of an international community of Catholic Sisters who work as missionaries in twenty countries around the world.
The RNDMs have been providing educational and social services internationally since 1862, and in Canada since 1898. In each country, the Sisters’ work in response to the needs of the people and region, with a primary focus on education and supporting the full flourishing of women and youth.
In Canada, the Sisters reside and work primarily in the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Although education, human rights, and dignity for all are important foci of their work, they also increasingly recognize the ecological peril facing our planet home. Recognizing earth as one community of life focuses their work for today and for the future.
Besides the services the Sisters provide, they also financially support the daily needs of members of the Congregation in Canada and in other parts of the world. Increasingly, support of senior members as well as training and educating young religious in Asia, Africa and South America have become important.
