The Little Angels Blood Cancer Fund is a registered* charity founded in 1996 by Diane George-Wiggins. It is run by a volunteer group of blood cancer survivors. Over 90% of the funds we raise go to patients who need help, with the balance supporting direct operating costs.
The Ottawa Hospital Foundation administers the Fund. Decisions regarding which blood cancer patients qualify for Little Angels assistance are made by Social Workers associated with the blood cancer treatment program at the Ottawa Hospital.
To date Little Angels has helped hundreds of patients and their families through the financial stresses and uncertainty associated with blood cancer treatment. The number of patients qualifying for assistance has been growing at about 20% per year.
