Devoted to placing AED's throughout our communities and raising awareness of lifesaving CPR and operation of AEDs, in memory of Andrew Stoddart (age 15). This is his story, his legacy.
Andrew Stoddart was a star athlete, playing sports like football, track and field and - of course - soccer. He showed great promise as a quarterback. In an instant, however, the lives of the Stoddart family were changed forever. On May 11th, 2015, Andrew was playing soccer in Kintore, Ontario, when he suddenly collapsed without warning. His coach rushed over to find him without vital signs. Parents and bystanders attempted CPR until the fire department arrived with the defibrillator, however, it was too late for Andrew. He was gone, at the tender age of 15. His heart was healthy. It had just... stopped, and no one knows why.
Even after his death, Andrew continues to be an inspiration. Shortly thereafter, Andrew's close friends and family rallied together with a mission to get as many AED's out in the community as possible, in hopes that no one else will have to go through the agony of losing a loved one in the same way.
Each AED costs $2,000. Our current goal is to have one in every school in TVDSB - we still have 83 more to go! That's $166,000! Every little bit helps. Our goal is to have AEDs located at all sports field and public spaces.
