Lunenburg Doc Fest is set to return for its 12th edition from September 17–21, 2025, in the scenic seaside town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. With powerful stories from Canada and across the globe, the festival offers something for every documentary lover. This year’s program will feature more than 60 documentary films—double the number of titles shown last year—marking our biggest and most diverse lineup to date. Leading up to the festival, audiences can enjoy three FREE Docs on the Dock screenings, outdoor events that bring the community together for films and conversation under the open sky. A marquee highlight of festival week is the Sunset Gala on Thursday, September 18, where guests will gather on Lunenburg’s historic waterfront for an elegant evening of celebration. Featuring local cuisine, beverages, and live entertainment, the Sunset Gala is an opportunity to connect with filmmakers and fellow attendees in an unforgettable setting before attending the Opening Night film. In addition to film screenings, the festival will host a cohort of film professionals at the Dock Market, our annual industry conference that offers pitch opportunities, one-on-one meetings, roundtables, and development sessions for both emerging and established creators.
