We are M.L.E Training and Research Society (MLE) that was incorporated Dec 2, 1991. We are a registered charity with Canada Revenue Agency.  MLE runs Greater Heights Learning Academy a designated independent (not private or public) special needs school in Coquitlam and also Variety Learning Centre which runs specialized training in Bright Start, Feuerstein’s Instrumental Enrichment (FIE) and summer camps for special needs children.

Our school is a unique place where kids from kindergarten to Grade 12 come to us from all across the Lower Mainland to be educated in a safe, nurturing and accepting environment. We provide our kids with small classes, individualized programs, in-school therapy by our Occupational therapists, Speech Language Pathologist and Physiotherapist.  We also have 2 counselors, a sensory room and Occupational therapy room.  Our kids come to us with a wide variety of learning challenges we are here to support them and provide them with the skills necessary to reach their full potential.  We have kids on adapted programs, modified programs and life skills.  Our kids go on to graduate with the Dogwood High School Diploma or Evergreen Certificate.

There is often a misconception that independent schools are elite and are affluent.  Sadly this is not the case.  Our parents are often single families or who are stretched financially raising a special needs child with all the demands that brings.
