Before we tell you about our 2024 accomplishments, we want to share that we need your help. The MacLaren Art Centre must reach an ambitious goal of raising $100,000 by year’s end to maintain our programs, exhibitions, and creative offerings. We are calling on your support to ensure the MacLaren remains a hub for artistic excellence and learning in the region.
The Ontario Arts Council and the Canadian Council for the Arts have not increased our funding over the past six years. At the same time, material costs and staff time have risen dramatically. Our dedicated team is passionate about delivering exceptional educational opportunities and contemporary exhibitions, but we can't continue this vital work without your support. This year we are asking you to make the largest gift you can to the MacLaren.
Though we face many challenges, we are reminded of our remarkable achievements this year. We couldn’t have done it without you!
DID YOU KNOW:
- 30+ community groups and organizations collaborated with us
- 14,413 people visited the gallery
- 13 exhibitions were hosted in the galleries
- 8,500 children in 78 schools participated in VanGo programs
- 1,200 children attended Family Sundays

Creative Spark is an art education program for individuals living with dementia and their caretakers, who are connected to the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County. The impact this program has on participants is profound, providing a rare and meaningful space for connection, creativity, and joy.
