Mission: to allow adults with physical disabilities to have a daily activity reproducing the labor market.
In 1988, following the reorganization of the Centre de Réadapatation Constance-Lethbridge, Health Canada's Innovation Program funded the creation of three units (Main-forte, Coude à coude and Amalgame) allowing 36 people with physical disabilities to enter an environment reproducing the labour world. This is how the units managed by their own participating members were created.
The unit is an environment where everyone has their own responsibility. Participants take care of management, maintenance, work planning as well as hiring and acceptance of new members within the organization. They also are a majority on the board of directors.
Our objectives:
• To participate in an activity which reproduce the labour world• To break isolation• To develop self-confidence• To integrate members on social and professional levels• To offer tailor-made training, according to the needs of the team• To give a rest to informal caregivers
