Maison d'amitié is a francophone non-profit organization whose mission is to fight for the dignity, equality and security of women in all their diversity.
Since 1976, Maison d'amitié has provided a living environment for women who are victims of domestic violence that strives to foster the personal development and empowerment by giving women the tools build their self-confidence and take control of their lives. We advocate a feminist approach and defend the right of all women to have a lives free from violence.
Maison d'amitié operates two shelters that can each accommodate 15 women and their children, and is the host of the Francophone support line for the Eastern Ontario - Fem’aide. Maison d'amitié is administered by a volunteer board of directors and has nearly 50 employees who are all committed to the safety of women.
