Findings and situation

We have noticed that many people are taking different actions and that millions of dollars are being invested to help our veterans find solutions. People are being treated using animal therapy, music therapy and even art therapy. Our many steps across Canada have shown us that many organizations are involved but that no one is coordinated to offer a complete service under one roof.

Mandate

This project had its beginnings in 2012 with a promotional spirit that wants to be innovative. La Maison des Vétérans du Canada/Canada Veteran’s House Inc. had its official beginnings in April 2019 with its incorporation. Her mandate is to take care of and support a person suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD) and related conditions, including spouse and family.

Assignment

Bring together under one roof the elements necessary for an avenue towards healing, thanks to a clinical plan personalized by Dr. Roberge, involving the family. The basis of care and support objectives is based on the 3 Rs: Recovery, Rehabilitation and Social Reintegration. In addition to medical care, the clinical plan integrates physical activities including animal therapy, music therapy and art therapy programs and other various social activities.

Promote health by establishing a research and development unit aimed at improving the physical and mental well-being of veterans and their families, while making research results public.
