The Malawi Water Project provides clean water to families living in villages in rural Malawi, Africa and walks alongside of villagers to achieve proper sanitation and hygiene practices in their village.
Biosand Water Filter: To ensure contaminated water is treated, local villagers are hired and taught how to construct, install and maintain the household biosand water filter. It is a slow sand filter that removes 98% of pathogens from contaminated water.
Community Health Promotion: To ensure filtered water doesn’t become re-contaminated and to ensure families live in a heathy environment, local villagers are hired and taught how to help others in their villages maintain a healthy home by teaching proper sanitation and hygiene.
