Subject: Help Us Preserve the Legacy of the Marco Polo – A Historic Voyage Worth Honoring

Dear Donor,

I’m writing to invite you to become a part of an extraordinary project that honors one of the great maritime achievements in Canadian history—the development of a historic site dedicated to the legendary Marco Polo sailing ship, built right here in Saint John, New Brunswick. Please watch the LINK below for more information about the project.

Marco Polo returns to the Saint John Harbour with replica

Known as "the fastest ship in the world" during her prime, the Marco Polo sailed from Saint John in 1851, becoming a symbol of our region’s shipbuilding heritage and global reach. Today, we have the rare opportunity to develop a lasting tribute: a heritage site that will educate, inspire, and preserve her story for generations to come.

This initiative is driven by a passionate community effort, but we can't do it alone. We’re seeking support from individuals like you—champions of history, education, and cultural preservation. Your donation will help bring this project to life through interpretive displays, restoration work, and engaging programming that celebrates our shared legacy.

Whether you’re a maritime enthusiast, a local history supporter, or someone who believes in the power of community, your contribution will make a meaningful impact. We’d be honored to recognize donors on-site as part of a permanent tribute to those who helped preserve this iconic part of our heritage.

Our 2026 project is to secure 100 donors giving $100 each to raise $10k for our continued project activity which will add mast lighting, rigging and a foundation for the Marco Polo.

Please send e-transfer funds via Canada Helps:  marco-polo-harbourfront-historical-village-museum-inc | CharityProfile | Donate Online

Thank you for donation and being involved with something truly historic.

Warm regards,

Barry Odgen
