Mariposa House Hospice (MHH) is a new five bed residential setting which will open its doors in early 2021. It will provide 24-hour specialized end-of-life palliative care to individuals, while welcoming and supporting their familiy and friends. MHH is a non-profit organization serving the North Simcoe communities of Orillia, Severn, Oro-Medonte, Ramara, and Chippewas of Rama First Nation. All services will be offered at no charge thanks to the generous support of our community.
The residential care area has 5 private home-like “suites”, featuring a hospital bed for the individual, a Murphy bed for family/friends, a patio with large door so that the individual’s bed can be wheeled outside, and a private washroom. This area also features a spa room with large family-sized bathtub. Nursing and personal support staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The residential hospice also features a variety of common spaces both indoors and outdoors including a solarium, a kitchen and dining area, an outdoor patio/BBQ area, and a children’s area
