Our Mission
To raise, manage and disburse funds to support and enrich quality health care for residents of and visitors to our community. Our current priority is to raise funds to provide modern equipment and related infrastructure for the Markdale Hospital and to support Brightshores regional health care programs and equipment needs.
Markdale Hospital Foundation Objectives:
To coordinate fundraising; receive, maintain, raise and disperse funds for the enhancement of health care services in the Grey & Bruce counties including Brightshores Health System and the Markdale Hospital.
To assist Brightshores Health System – Markdale Hospital in providing quality health care through positive public relations.
To act as trustees of approved trust funds, given or bequeathed to Markdale Hospital Foundation formally Centre Grey Health Services Foundation.
About Markdale Hospital Foundation (formally Centre Grey Health Services Foundation)
Centre Grey geographically is an extended community that includes the area from Feversham to Priceville, Dundalk to Chatsworth & numerous villages & municipalities in between. Our community also welcomes many seasonal residents & regular visitors who see Centre Grey as a home away from home. We all rely on the Markdale Hospital to provide first-rate health care; a task that it carries out admirably.
In 2023 the old Centre Grey General Hospital was closed and the brand new Markdale Hospital at 220 Toronto Street South, Markdale opened it's doors. The Foundation has changed it's name to reflect the new name of the hospital.
Yearly equipment commitments are currently $500,000 and growing steadily. Your gift is critically important in helping maintain the capacity of our hospital to provide first-class health care to the Centre Grey community. With over 18,000 annual Emergency Room visits alone, you can be sure that your donation will help someone every day of the year.
