The Rotary Club of Markham Sunrise is thrilled to announce our 3rd annual Comedy Night on Friday October 17, 2025 featuring comedians from Yuk Yuks (Min Age 19). Doors open 6.30pm, event begins at 7.30pm. Tickets can be purchased now via the CanadaHelps platform ticket page

The event is destined to be a night filled with laughter and memorable performances while raising funds to support  Campfire Circle, a Canadian based charity, who provide the transformational experience of a residential camp for kids with cancer or other serious illnesses.  Campfire Circle was formerly known as Camp Ooch and Camp Trillium. 

To donate to Campfire Circle in addition to buying tickets , please visit the ticket page and enter the amount you wish to donate. Note that you will not get a Canadian tax receipt for ticket purchases but you will get a receipt for any amount donated. If you can't attend the event, you can also donate directly from this page.

Donation Levels

  • $500 will fund 4 wilderness kits for Campers
  • $2,500 will pay for 1 child to attend camp
  • $5,000 will pay a child and their sibling to attend camp

Our overall 2025 fundraising goal for Campfire Circle is to raise $20,000 to enable us to send 8 kids to camp.

The Comedians

Headline - Jeff McEnery - Jeff won the prestigious "Tim Sims Encouragement Award" in 2005, "Yuk Yuk's Great Canadian Laugh Off" in 2006 and was named “Best Stand-Up Newcomer” at the 2007 Canadian Comedy Awards. Since then, Jeff has become a headliner for Yuk Yuk’s and made multiple appearances at every major Canadian comedy festival.  Jeff's Comedy Now! special, was broadcast on CTV in 2011. In 2015, he was nominated for 'Best Male Stand-Up' at the Canadian Comedy Awards and has numerous acting and writing roles. 

MC - Dom Paré  - Described as "one of the best stand-ups around" by NOW Magazine, Dom Paré blends magnetic onstage charisma, hilarious observation, and clever writing to deliver memorable side-splitting comedy. He delights audiences and collects fans wherever he performs. Dom reached the finals of SiriusXM Canada’s Top Comic competition, the Semi-Finals of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition and was a runner-up for Toronto's Best Male Stand-Up.

Featuring - Cathy Boyd  - Cathy is a brutally honest and is known for her dry demeanour. Her most notable recent appearance was on Season One of Canada’s Got Talent, where judge Howie Mandel remarked, “You’re very funny. You’ve found your calling.” In 2020, Cathy released her debut album, Wise Tracks, available on SiriusXM’s She’s So Funny and SiriusXM Comedy Club, and on most streaming platforms. She can also be heard on CBC Laugh Out Loud Radio.

From the great outdoors to hospital floors, Campfire Circle are there for kids & families. Volunteers and staff have joined thousands of families on their journey with childhood cancer since 1983. Camp programs run in paediatric oncology centres and communities all across Ontario. 3 Programs are supported:

In-Hospital programs - Campfire Circle staff and volunteers meet kids soon after their diagnosis, bringing moments of fun and laughter to them, their siblings, and parents during time in hospital.

Community Programs - Campfire Circle staff and volunteers bring the magic of camp close to home or online with year-round community programs across Ontario.

Overnight Programs - Campfire Circle has two overnight camp sites, including the only site in Canada to provide IV chemotherapy and blood transfusions – and hosts programs for kids, teens, bereaved siblings, and families.
