Matters of History’s mandate is to raise awareness of Canada’s service in Afghanistan by building and maintaining a new Afghanistan War Museum of Canada in Calgary and to produce educational materials, films and programs to teach the public about Canadian military history and the war in Afghanistan. We are currently in the fund development stage for a 10 part documentary series about the Canadian experience in Afghanistan from 2002 -2014 in partnership with the Directorate of History & Heritage. We want Canadians to understand what it was like to be there and to encourage Canadians see themselves as supporters of our Military and veteran.
Matters of History honours Canada’s service and sacrifice in Afghanistan by welcoming the community to gather, learn and celebrate our freedoms.
