Our mission is to give support and develop programs for families with young children on Mayne Island with particular focus on the needs of infants, toddlers and pre-school age children. 

We bring quality, affordable childcare to Mayne Island. The Mayne Island Daycare has evolved from a part-time program employing one staff in a shared classroom, to a full-time operation with two separate programs and four staff in an adapted residential home. This growth is a testament to the influx of young families coming to live and work in our community. These families provide the economic bedrock for a sustainable and vibrant island community. They work as farmers, food service workers, educators, ferry workers, tradespeople, and human service workers – and they rely on childcare provided solely by Mayne Island Daycare. Our organization values fiscal responsibility, administrative fairness, and agility in navigating the complex regulatory environment involved in running licensed care.
