Every year we focus our spring fundraising campaign on meeting facility needs.

One area of our facility that we think deserves our attention is the foyer. Namely, our poster cases, our box office and our concession space. As the first thing our patrons see, and what can be the busiest space to navigate, we’d like to improve both the aesthetics and the efficiency of the space to ensure our box office and concession sales flow more quickly and your experience prior to even entering the auditorium is as pleasant and easy as it can be.

However, this project is large and will require a longer period of time for us to execute. So welcome to Phase 1! Spring 2026 we will be fundraising for the first phase of “The Foyer Fundraiser” which will include restoration to our poster cases (which have been in use prior to Metro even moving into The Garneau), the lighting, and replacing the wall paper. These smaller projects will be completed during our annual maintenance closure in the summer. This year we’re asking for $15,000 to get us started in our endeavour.

Phase 2 or “The Foyer: The Sequel”, will continue on this work in spring of 2027 as we plan on completely remodelling the box office, and the concession structurally. More information, blueprints, and our needs for the bigger end of this project will be revealed soon…but for now we hope you can help us take some steps in the right direction!
