We are raising money to support the application of an Iraqi trans refugee to come to safety in Canada. This money will help support the newcomer during their first year in Canada and will include provisions for mental health supports and trans healthcare. Our goal is to provide a safe space and time for the newcomer to start healing and begin a life of safety and dignity in Canada, supported by people who understand their personal history.

Our sponsorship team includes both LGBTQ+ and straight members, but we all recognize the marginalization and increased dangers faced by LGBTQ+ refugees, especially trans refugees.
