We are a group of sponsors, both LGBTQ+ and straight, all with personal connections to the Iranian queer refugee community. Some of us arrived here as refugees ourselves.
We are raising funds to support the application of one more member of the Iranian LGBTQ+ refugee community to come to safety in Canada.
We recognize the dangers of living as an LGBTQ person in Iran, including imprisonment and public execution.
The money we raise will help support the newcomer during their first year in Canada and will include provisions for mental health supports. Our goal is to provide a safe space and time for the newcomer to start healing and begin a life of safety and dignity in Canada.
