Our Mission
A training environment for young grown-ups
On local plan, Micro-Recyc-Cooperation offers a training structure in support of data processing for young volontary grown-ups, to help them improve their knowledge in an environment very close to that of work in data processing support.
Environnemental protection
The purpose of our organization is to promote through the province of Quebec a reaction for retrieving and recycling all kind of computer hardware. Once these attitudes are developed, we hope them to apply to all useless products, get into reducing scraps and protect our global environment.
A long lasting development
Using a computer facilitates the development of active participation and exchanges between several partners in order to set in motion regular exchanges of experience and know-how in the fields of efficiency and activities to increase their actions. We supply tools to institutions looking after penniless people in order that they can learn how to "help themselves".
Education
Teaching is a major stake in development and a prerequisite for the improvement of people from Third World countries. Lack of training tools is a brake to the expansion of knowledge. Our action aims at favouring education and training of people from poor countries particularly women, by facilitating the buying of computer hardware and by giving these women access to new technologies of information and communication.
Social justice and international solidarity
Used and off serial computers thrown away in North countries become important tools in the economic development of people from poor countries. Our activities help develop fair exchanges and mutual aid between Northern and Southern partners.
About MICRO-RECYC COOPERATION
Micro-Recyc-Cooperation is a social economy organization that collects used computers and accessories from communities in Canada, in other to give them a second life in developping countries, while providing to young grown-ups Montrealers a training surroundings in the field of employment.
In Canada the rapid grow of the High-Tech Industry has led to a drop in the cost of computers, accelerating disuse and saturation of local market. As a result of this situation, the majority of used computers go to landfills. But still these computers may have a second life and last 5 years or more.
