Our Mission
Founded in 1990, the Mission of the Great Shepherd is a non-profit humanitarian organization whose goal is to meet the needs of underprivileged persons in Montreal.
Families plagued by unemployment, single-parent families with limited resources, children, homeless people, teenagers in the street, elderly people – we are there to feed them and help them improve their lot in life.
• We provide food, clothing, household appliances, toys, and other goods to people in need.
• We contribute toward meeting the physical, spiritual, educational and social needs of the disadvantaged.
• We work in cooperation with other organizations who share similar goals.
About MISSION DU GRAND BERGER / MISSION OF THE GREAT SHEPHERD
The Mission of the Great Shepherd is located in the south west area of Montreal in Pointe St. Charles. A variety of services are provided to people in need.
• Daily hot meals at our drop-in center
• Home delivery of hot meals for persons who are unable to leave their home
• Food bank on Tuesday afternoons
• Free access to computers and assistance in acquiring basic computer skills
• Hot meals served in the street at two of Montreal’s downtown parks
• A community store stocked with numerous second-hand items sold at very low prices – clothing, furniture, appliances, toys, books, etc.
• Reference and counselling services
