2016 Fundraising Update
300 friends, $300 each. That was our goal.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have reached 60% of that goal in our 300 x 300 Fundraising Campaign! The campaign continues until January 30, 2017.
You can make a one-time donation or become a monthly donor to help the festival retain sustainable funding. A $25 monthly gift will reach $300 in one year!
Please support this arts event that has brought so much great music to your ears.
Give what you can to help. Your gift will help keep the music playing!
To find the best, the rarest, the unheard of that should be heard; to nurture local artists while reaching around the globe to bring in the world's great music; to encourage audiences to discover new musical forms and to experience the richness and diversity of music of many peoples and cultures as well as the richness of our own community, province and country; to balance the new and daring with brilliant reflections of familiar sounds and traditions and bring it all together in a festival that works in the small town of Mission on a weekend in July; this is the artistic vision of the Mission Folk Music Festival.
In pursuing this vision, the Mission Folk Music Festival has carved out a niche that is unique among Canadian festivals. Programming includes yet reaches beyond the annual roster of touring artists to present music and cultural expressions special to this festival, artists often not seen at festivals in Canada. Audiences have come to expect and appreciate music they’ve not heard of before; they’ve come to trust that what appears on the Mission stages will excite and expand their musical horizons.
About Our Charity
Staged in one of BC’s loveliest parks overlooking the Fraser River, the Mission Folk Music Festival takes place the 4th weekend in July. Founded in 1988, the festival is known for the quality of its programming and the beauty of the site. Accessible and affordable with small-town friendliness, shaded day stages, Folk Art Market and other amenities, the festival is a joy to attend and is perhaps the most comfortable and audience friendly outdoor festival venue in BC.
