Mission Literacy in Motion has been delivering Adult and Family literacy programs since 1992.

We believe that improving literacy skills enriches the quality of life for individuals and the community. Therefore, MLiM's purpose to promote growth of literacy in Mission.

Our Goals are: 

To identify and to address the literacyneeds of the Mission community in all its diversities

To promote community awareness of the many facets literacy

To increase access and useof new and existing literacy opportunities

To encourage and support learners to enter and to complete literacy programs

To establish literacy partnerships among community, workplace, and service groups

To collaborate with organizations as they develop leteracy plans

To Make use of as many funding opportunities as possible

Strategies:

Collaborate with key service providers to provide outreach of appropriate services to communities and to citizens marginalized by economic, language, and workplace issues where literacy programs are not easily accessible

Collaborate with existing community networks and associations to implement an accessible system for disseminating infomation, generating awareness, and ensuring that people are able to connect with available literacy services.

To promote diversity and inclusiveness by supporting existing literacy programs that serve youth, young adults, young families, adults, seniors, immigrants, and indigenous people

to develop starategic partnerships with key community employers and business owners in order to facilitate the implementation of literacy programs in the workplace
