About Markham & Lawrence Community United (MLCU):

Markham & Lawrence Community United (MLCU) is a registered charitable organization dedicated to strengthening and uplifting underserved communities in Scarborough and the Greater Toronto Area.

Our mission is to improve community well-being by:

• Relieving social isolation among seniors through weekly wellness programs, education, and community engagement

• Relieving poverty by providing accessible and subsidized programs for low-income families

• Supporting physical and mental health through fitness, youth sports, and family-centered initiatives

• Advancing education by offering workshops, mentorship, and community-based learning opportunities

MLCU creates safe, inclusive spaces where seniors, youth, women, and families can connect, grow, and thrive. From seniors’ wellness days and technology training to girls’ programs and mommy-and-baby support groups, our programs are rooted in dignity, accessibility, and community empowerment.
