Just Solutions, Montreal City Mission's legal clinic for vulnerable migrants, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year! 🎉 Over the past two decades, we have made a significant impact on the lives of thousands of im/migrants, reuniting hundreds of loved ones through the dedicated efforts of our staff and student interns.

Your donation directly fuels our ability to provide crucial services to vulnerable im/migrants in our community. Here's how your support translates into impactful assistance:

$20: A grocery gift-card to support a vulnerable im/migrant.

$200: Multiple in-person meetings with a client at the JS clinic, where our team offers comprehensive legal guidance and vital psychosocial support to im/migrants.

$2,000: Two weeks of intensive work by our staff, which may involve researching, drafting, submitting, and following up with the government on a humanitarian application for permanent residence, all provided at no charge.

This support is instrumental in representing vulnerable im/migrants, particularly those facing mental health challenges, domestic violence, economic uncertainty, and those whose asylum claims have been rejected.

When we represent someone on an im/migration application, we will often work with them for years, providing holistic legal and social support. We help them understand their legal options, strategize, prepare lengthy submissions and supporting evidence, and follow up frequently with government decision makers. And all the while, we continue to provide the person with the psychosocial support that they need during however many years it takes until they finally become permanent residents. This can be 3,5, or even more years. Each donation allows us to help someone through a portion of this necessary process completely free of charge.
