The Montreal Fluency Centre proudly launches its annual Gift of Speech campaign to provide bursaries to qualifying families.

Funds raised provide:

- Subsidies for Psycho-Educational Assessments and Speech, Stuttering, Language and Literacy Assessments

- Reduced cost for weekly treatment sessions

- Subsidies for students to attend the after-school Taylor Adolescent Program

- Financial support for students to attend our Summer Intensive programs

With the support of the bursary program our family has been able to access the brilliance of speech-language pathologist, Catherine Rebellati. With her caring guidance and expertise our son has made leaps and bounds and continues to foster a confidence in his oral communication. With pride, he shares widely with his family and our community what he has learned at the "Blue House".

You can make the difference in a child's life

Our daughter, who is the oldest of our four children will be 10 in December. She was diagnosed with ADHD when she was three years old and subsequently received a diagnosis of Autism as well as a speech disorder in the years that followed. From day one we searched for resources to help her succeed but always hit a dead end. Speech and language services were never offered in English and if they were, the cost per session far exceeded our financial ability. The support in her school was few and far between and she began to fall further and further behind her peers.

Then one day, when speaking with a mother who’s child was followed at the Fluency Centre, I received the information that has since changed everything. I completed the application for the bursary program and soon after we met with Yael.

Within a few months of starting her sessions I saw a new child emerge. She absolutely loved meeting with Yael every week, and reading became much less of a chore for her. As her reading skills improved so did her confidence and overall happiness.

Now, she is in the fourth grade and reading at her grade level. I don’t know where we would be without the amazing support and guidance we receive from everyone at the Centre. Without the bursary program this all would have never been possible as we are a single income family. I am so grateful that this opportunity was given to our family and in turn my daughter was gifted the ability to excel.
