Nearly 75 percent of BC seniors are low to moderate income. They cannot afford private care, yet the system simply cannot meet their needs. As a result, thousands of seniors are left without real choice, forced out of their homes, have to live in hospital hallways, or are left to live at risk far longer than they should, leading to a lack of dignity, choice and lower life expectancy.
More at Home Society exists to change that.
We provide direct financial support for home support so older adults can stay safely in their own homes with dignity, autonomy, and control over their lives. Often, just a few hours of help each week is enough to prevent unnecessary institutional care and protect a senior’s independence.
