Communitas is a volunteer run charitable organization based in Montreal that assists with the reintegration and resocialization of men returning to the community from Federal Prisons in Canada.
In addition to visiting prisoners in Minimum and Medium Security prisons on a monthly basis, we also hold weekly community meetings and convene free weekly lunches with volunteers and ex-prisoners in the community.
Originating through strong links to Institutional and Community chaplaincy, Communitas is a Restorative Justice based organization which is run by a Board of Directors and comprises approximately 50 volunteers. We have 2 part-time contractors working with us.
We are celebrating 25 years of existence this year.
