The Mouvement contre le viol et l'inceste (MCVI) emerged in 1975 from the feminist consciousness of diverse women who recognized the various forms of oppression women face. Our mission is to combat all forms of violence against women that result from our societies’ unequal power structures.
The MCVI fulfills its mission through feminist action, based on women’s empowerment, conducted by, for, and with women, aimed at achieving structural, legal, economic, and social transformation.
We welcome teenage girls and women who are survivors of violence and sexual assault, providing a space that includes women in all their diversity, especially migrant women. Our services include prevention, advocacy, awareness, support, and accompaniment; and they are offered in English, French, and Spanish.
