Muslim Social Services of Waterloo Region (MSSWR) is a charitable organization dedicated to providing culturally and spiritually sensitive humanitarian and social services to both Muslim and non-Muslim communities across the Waterloo Region. Our mission is to help build a healthy, compassionate, and inclusive community where every person can live with dignity, respect, and a true sense of belonging.

Many of the individuals and families we serve are newcomers, refugees, and community members navigating significant life challenges. Through compassion, cultural understanding, and community collaboration, MSSWR works to ensure that no one has to face these challenges alone. Our programs focus on strengthening families, empowering youth, supporting mental health, and building bridges between communities.

Over the years, MSSWR has made a meaningful impact in our region. Through more than 21 community programs, we have supported over 5,000 individuals, including men, women, youth, children, and seniors. From counselling services and youth empowerment initiatives to food assistance and community-building programs, our work reaches those who need support the most. In addition, we have helped distribute over 15,000 donations and essential supports to individuals and families experiencing hardship.

Despite being a small organization, MSSWR has built a strong reputation for impact by working closely with community partners, local agencies, and volunteers who share our commitment to service and compassion. Our office is located within The Family Centre Community Hub, where we actively collaborate with other organizations to strengthen support systems across Waterloo Region.

We understand that effective support must reflect the cultural, spiritual, and social realities of the communities we serve. Our services are designed to meet people where they are, providing not only practical support but also hope, connection, and empowerment.
