The Kessler Academy
Music on Main and The Microcosmos Quartet work towards creating The Kessler Academy each August: an emerging artist string orchestra mentorship initiative, led by members of the Microcosmos Quartet.
Susan Kessler, for whom this annual program is named, passed away in October 2021 at the age of 107. We are committed to honouring her incredible legacy of support and care for music and musicians through The Kessler Academy in future years. You can read more about Susan's exceptional life here.
Music on Main fundraises for this program on a year-round basis! Donor support for this program covers rehearsal space rental and music royalties, as well as the mentors’ fees, and allows Music on Main to continue to offer this program at no cost to its youth participants.
