We are fiercely passionate about telling stories through song. While musical theatre is sometimes written off as a purely commercial form of entertainment, its potential as a multi-disciplinary art form is profound. Music effectively allows an audience to viscerally feel what a character feels, making it an extraordinary tool to build empathy when telling stories that explore the depth of the human condition. As such, our organization, established in 2004, set out to build a home for contemporary musical theatre in Canada, offering support to Canadian storytellers and music-makers who wish to create together, and introducing audiences to consistent musical programming that is thought-provoking, socially-relevant and transformative. As well, in recognition of the transferrable skills that this art form develops, we established and maintain a commitment to working with young people on a grassroots level to use storytelling through song as a vehicle for self-expression.
