NAIFA Toronto

about

We are a grassroots organization that works with vulnerable people in the City of Toronto and its surrounding areas. These individuals and their families are newcomers to Toronto, are young Canadian men and women who are put at risk. They are also refugees looking for a new start in Toronto.

Our approach is integrative or re-integrative and focuses on the individual, the family, and the community. These are the concentric intervention spaces via which our programs and services are delivered.

These six principles: Gambaru, Ikigai, Lagom, Pempamsie, Sisu, and Ukama, sourced from our diverse, common and shared heritage from Scandinavia through Japan to Africa, convey our programming vision and statement of accountability to the people who require our services, to our donors and funders and to the general Canadian public.

Our overall goal is a well and inclusive Toronto.
